WORD INDUCTIVE MODEL (PWIM) IN SMP N 8 DENPASAR

The aim of this study was to know the best implementation Picture Word Inductive
Model (PWIM) to improve students writing skill descriptive text. The method of
study used was cassroom action research, and was conducted in two cycles, the
steps in this method were: 1) Planning, 2) Action, 3) Observing, and 4) Reflecting.
The findings of this study showed that in the first cycle, the researcher used Picture
Word Inductive Model (PWIM) to teach writing descriptive text but the students
were still had a problem limited selection and unclear word forms in vocabulary.
The minimum mastery criteria was achieved but the average of score not achieve
the criteria of succes of 80. Meanwhile, in cycle II there were several improvements
that had been achieved. Student achievement in writing descriptive text in cycle II
increased. The activeness of students was increase and all students achieve average
score of 80. The students were paying attention to the teacher explanation. The
score of the final test was increase almost perfectly. It can be concluded that Picture
Word Inductive Model(PWIM) could improve students writing descriptive text.
