This study aims to improve the writing skills of Seventh Graders Class A students
at Raj Yamuna Junior High School using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. This
research employs Classroom Action Research (CAR), in which they spiral from the first
cycle to the next. This study was used class VII students of SMP Raj Yamuna Denpasar
in the 2022/2023 academic year. A writing test will used as the testing technique. The

quantitative data were collected from the results of students’ pre- test and post-
test.Planning, action, observation, and reflection are the four phases in each of the two

cycles used in this study. After the teaching and learning process took place in the lesson
plans for cycle I and cycle II the researcher choose to stop because it was considered to
refer to the improvement achieved by students'' writing skill from cycle I to cycle II. After
conducting research on writing procedure text with Project Based Learning (PjBL) it can
be seen from the results of cycle I that there are still 5 students who have scores below the
Minimum Criteria Completeness (KKM) with a percentage of 33.3% and 10 students
meet the Minimum Criteria Completeness with a percentage of 66.6%, an increase in
cycle II all students’ were able to meet the score with the Minimum Criteria
Completeness (KKM) standard, namely 75 . From these data it proves that using Project
Based Learning (PjBL) can improve the writing skills of procedural texts for class VII
students of Raj Yamuna Junior High School.
