MEDIA ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY OF GRADE
NINE AT SMP HARAPAN NUSANTARA

This research aims to know the use of the features Wordwall application as a
teaching media to learn English vocabulary in SMP Harapan Nusantara. The
researcher used the features Wordwall application as teaching media to get a
significant impact and develop the media for teaching the students. This research
identifies using the feature Quiz and Open Box on Wordwall application as the
teaching media to enhance vocabulary mastery in nine-grade students at SMP
Harapan Nusantara. The researcher uses the Quantitative method in experimental
research, and this research design uses Quasi-experimental. The samples consist of
37 students in the experimental group and 38 students in the control group. In this
research, the collecting data used Pre-test, treatment, and Post-test. The data
analyzed in this research used the Descriptive statistical analysis, Normality test,
Homogeneity test, and the alternative test, namely Mann-Whitney U. Based on the
statistical calculation with the significant level a = 0.05, the result of this research
to know the impact of using the features Quiz and Open Box on student vocabulary
mastery in Experimental and Control groups. Based on the data, this research found
a significant impact of using features Quiz in the Experimental group than students
who learned using Open Box features in the control group. The result finding the
data of the Experimental group with the use feature Quiz got a higher score than
students who learn uses the Open Box feature in the Control group.
