Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) merupakan kemampuan berpikir
yang tidak sekadar mengingat (recall), menyatakan kembali (restate), atau
merujuk tanpa melakukan pengolahan (recite). Soal-soal HOTS pada konteks
asesmen mengukur kemampuan dalam mentransfer satu konsep ke konsep
lainnya, memproses dan menerapkan informasi, mencari kaitan dari berbagai
informasi yang berbeda-beda, menggunakan informasi untuk menyelesaikan
masalah, menelaah ide dan informasi secara kritis. Faktnya bahwa tidak semua
peserta didik yang menyukai pembelajaran IPA, kebanyakan peserta didik
menganggap bahwa pembelajaran IPA ada susah dan ada gampang. Oleh karena
itu menjadi alasan utama peneliti untuk mengetahui berpikir tinggkat tinggi
peserta didik.
Masalah yang dibahas pada penelitian ini adalah: 1 Bagaimana Profil
(HOTS) Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 1 Singakerta Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022 Pada
Materi Komponen Ekosistem Dan Jaring-Jaring Makanan ?.2. Bagaimana strategi
yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam mengembangkan Keterampilan (HOTS) pada
pembelajaran tematik aspek IPA materi komponen ekosistem dan jaring-jaring
makanan siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 singakerta tahun ajaran 2021/2022 1. Untuk
mendeskripsikan Profil Keterampilan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi (HOTS) Siswa
Kelas V SD Negeri 1 Singakerta Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022 Pada Materi Komponen
Ekosistem Dan Jaring-Jaring Makanan. 2. Untuk mendeskripsikan strategi yang
dilakukan oleh guru dalam mengembangkan Keterampilan Berpikir Tingkat
Tinggi (HOTS) pada pembelajaran tematik aspek IPA materi komponen ekosistem dan jaring-jaring makanan siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 singakerta tahun
ajaran 2021/2022.
Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis masalah ini adalah teori pengembangan kognitif, teori pengembangan behaviorisme, teori pengembangan
konstruktivisme. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes, metode
wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis dengan
bantuan SPSS dan triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1
Profil (HOTS) sudah dikembangkan di SD Negeri 1 Singakerta, dengan alasan
bahwa di sekolah tersebut sudah menerapkan kurikulum 2013 dengan menerapkan
pembelajaran berfikir tingkat tinggi. 2. Strategi yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam
mengembangkan (HOTS) SD Negeri 1 Singakerta adalah penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL), memahami karakter pembelajaran
HOTS dan menggunakan media.

Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) is the ability to think that does not
just recall, restate, or refer without processing (recite). HOTS questions in the
context of assessment measure the ability to transfer one concept to another,
process and apply information, find connections from different types of
information, use information to solve problems, examine ideas and information
critically. The fact is that not all students like learning science, most students
think that learning science is difficult and some are easy. Therefore, it is the main
reason for researchers to find out students' higher order thinking.
The problems discussed in this study are: 1 What is the Profile of (HOTS)
of Class V Students of SD Negeri 1 Singakerta for the Academic Year 2021/2022
on the Material of Ecosystem Components and Food Webs?. 2. What is the
strategy used by the teacher in developing (HOTS) in the thematic learning of the
natural sciences aspect of ecosystem component material and food webs for fifth
grade students at SD Negeri 1 Singakerta for the 2021/2022 academic year To
describe the Profile of ( HOTS) Grade V Students of SD Negeri 1 Singakerta for
Academic Year 2021/2022 on Ecosystem Components and Food Webs. 2. To
describe the strategy carried out by the teacher in developing (HOTS) in the
thematic learning of the natural sciences aspect of ecosystem components and
food webs for fifth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Singakerta for the 2021/2022
academic year.
The theory used to analyze this problem is cognitive development theory,
behaviorism development theory, constructivism development theory. Methods of
data collection using test methods, interview methods and documentation. The
data that has been collected is analyzed with the help of SPSS and data
triangulation.

The results of this study indicate that: 1 A profile of higher-order
thinking skills (HOTS) has been developed at SD Negeri 1 Singakerta, on the grounds that the school has implemented the 2013 curriculum by applying higher-
order thinking learning. 2. The strategy adopted by the teacher in developing (HOTS) at SD Negeri 1 Singakerta is the application of the Problem Based
Learning (PBL) learning model, understanding the character of HOTS learning
and using the media.
